SUMMARY:Hearts & Minds Book Signing
DESCRIPTION:The City of Bridges Foundation will be hosting Dr Vincent Parillo\, a Professor Emeritus of Sociology from William Paterson University on February 27th at 6:30pm\, at the Turkish Cultural Center building. He will be introducing and discussing his recent book entitled  “Hearts and Minds”.  Book sales will be available for signing. After the discussion we will have a question and answer session. Dinner will be served at the end of the program where you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the author. \n[gdlr_core_row]\n[gdlr_core_column size=”1/3″][/gdlr_core_column]\n[gdlr_core_column size=”2/3″]Dr Parillo’s book “Hearts and Minds” is a comparative\, qualitative research study of an educational phenomenon still functioning worldwide: Hizmet. \nDr. Parrillo and Dr. Ansari present a cross-cultural study of Hizmet schools in seven countries of varying histories and ethnic compositions. Some are fairly homogeneous\, while others are long standing multicultural\, multiracial societies. Some have Muslim-majority populations\, others a small Muslim minority. \n[/gdlr_core_column] \n[/gdlr_core_row] \n  \nThrough hundreds of interviews with students\, parents\, staff\, and financial supporters\, the authors explored individual perceptions and experiences\, as well as the triad of student/parent/school interaction.
