The annual interfaith picnic was attended by many people from different religions and cultures. We had a new opportunity to attend an event, meet new people, and meet organizations that will be partners for our upcoming events.
The Mayor’s Office Iftar Dinner, which was held in the cultural center, was also a nice participation. There were very good conversation environments, we had the opportunity to meet many new people.
Youth Iftar dinner, which was held for the first time this year, was very good, although the participation was the first. Around 60 students had the opportunity to have Iftar together and to learn about the importance of Ramadan.
As the last part of the 6-month Knowing Each Other talking series program, it was held in the form of an Iftar dinner at the cultural center with great participation.
Traditional law enforcement iftar dinner, which was held for the second time this year, attendance was better than the previous year. The role and importance of Ramadan on diversity were mentioned.
The upper saint Claire’s shown interest in a Turkish Iftar, was made possible with the support of Turkish families. With members of the Upper Saint Claire police department and members of the community gathering for the Iftar together.
The interest in the JFCS fast-breaking dinner, which is held every year. Iftar was held with the meals prepared by the volunteers and a marbling show was held.
Due to the recent earthquake that happened in turkey, cooking class was held in order to provide aid by donating the money earned through selling the food items made in the class. We thank St Paul’s Episcopal Church for making this possible and hope the donated money will be put in for good use.
